After a standoff with longtime bully, Riley steps up to the plate to defend Jason, and since his heroic attempt, Jason has failed to think of anything but Riley. I read this book and it's follow up. I found this story to be missing some things and could have had more added to it before it ended. I liked the characters and how Riley looks out for Jason and becomes good friends with him. They hangout and spend time together all the while being in high school. As Jason learns about Riley, he falls for him experiencing different types of emotions. Riley disappears for a while due to his mom being sick and eventually passes. Jason comes to find out that Riley is a werewolf by Riley's admittance. They spend time together till one day Riley leaves to go back to his pack and leaves Jason a note saying he is leaving and apologizes. Jason becomes emotional and is not sure what to do. The story then skips a head a year and Jason is going to adult book stores to get himself off with a completely different attitude. The story ends shortly after that making you wonder what happens next. The author does follow up the story and it is longer than this one and more detailed. I felt the story should have ended just before the one year later and could've had Riley showing Jason he is a werewolf by shifting. Would have worked with some of their classmates either finding out about them or about Jason. Overall it was a cute story and I enjoyed it.Product details

The Most Important Game M/M First Time Gay MM Gay Sports Book 1 edition by Noah Harris Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
New York author Noah Harris is a 28-year-old bisexual man currently single and living in a small apartment in New York City. Though somewhat shy he is a humanitarian who sees the world in which we live as a community bonded in a natural approach to our feelings and ourselves and our interaction with others. His bisexual nature allows him to create well rounded characters – most all of his novels are M/M romances but they are much more than the usual erotica we encounter in film, television, and social media. Noah explores the boundaries of types and wields a strong brush as he paints his fascinating people.
In THE MOST IMPORTANT GAME Noah takes on the topic of first time gay experiences – a gay man with a straight man – in a setting of sports that somehow makes his story more relatable to a wider audience. Like other of his books Noah leads off with a prelude that sets the tone without giving away the storyline. In this instance it is locker room jargon – a well known brew of subliminal sex preference secrets ‘It had been the first time that he had ever talked to me, and in all honesty, it excited me. I suddenly understood why all the girls swooned all over him. “Can I ask you something?” He asked. “Sure,” I said matching my quivering voice from before. “Are you gay?” He asked. The question was loaded. I had never uttered those words to anyone even though it had been years since I had accepted it myself. My throat itched and my stomach clenched. As much as I wanted to say it, I never could. All I could do was shake my head like a worthless coward. “You know, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. I have a lot of family
that is interested in the same sex.” He said. “Was he giving me the talk?” I asked myself. This was unwarranted and not necessary.’
And so Noah distills this short novella as follows ‘Jason McCaw is a young adult about to celebrate his 19th birthday. The past 19 years of his life have been mundane, and for the most part, lonely. After his stepfather insists that he joins the basketball team to make friends, Jason is shocked and surprised when he meets the most popular boy in school, Riley Peterson. After a standoff with longtime bully, Riley steps up to the plate to defend Jason, and since his heroic attempt, Jason has failed to think of anything but Riley. But, what happens when Riley divulges a long kept secret to Jason? Will Jason still feel the same attraction, or will he abandon Riley in his time of need?’
So the stage is set and Noah allows us insights many other authors avoid. There is plenty of steamy erotica to set this little story on fire and surprise paranormal ending that is to be continued! Another fine tale from Noah Harris. Grady Harp, November 16

This is the first book I read by Noah Harris and I am hooked! Mari
I enjoyed the book.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. enjoyed this book. really like what this author writes about.
Story starts of as a typical high school jock story to a paranormal story with a huge cliffhanger. Jason tries not to look at his fellow team mates. He seems to be friendless until a team member Riley stops another team mate from bullying him. After a game the story turns paranormal - ish and then ends on a cliffhanger. When I got the book I didn't see that this was the first book in a series I probably wouldn't have got if if I knew it was an unfinished book.
This was a short quick read that I read for a challenge. I don't read a lot of YA but when I realized that this book was about YA I went into with an open-mind. Jason McCaw is 19 years old he joins the basketball team to make friends. When he is picked on by some bullies Riley Peterson the most popular boy in school comes to his rescue. I had some issues with them being 19 and still in high school also and the whole bomb he drops at the end of the book. The book was also confusing at times. This was my first time reading this author. The book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book to find out what happened.
I loved this story. This story is about Jason and Riley. Jason's parents make him play basketball. Jason's dad is very into sports and Jason is more into academics. To keep the peace at home, he joined the basketball team. He plays on the C Team. Riley is the star of the school. He plays all sports and plays on the A Team in basketball. When Riley sticks up for Jason when he is being bullied Jason remembers that Riley was his childhood crush. When they have an away game Riley and Jason drive together, while Jason is playing on the C Team, he wants to impress Riley and ends up playing his best game so far. The coach asks him to play on the A Team because they are down a member, and Jason gets to play with Riley. On the way home they make a detour to meet Riley's sick mom. As they are waiting for Jason's dad to pick him up, Riley surprises Jason with a kiss. All Jason can think about is Riley and the kiss they shared. When Riley doesn't show up for school Jason is worried and finally finds out that his mom has died. When Jason's nineteenth birthday comes around all he wanted to do was share it with the missing Riley. When he gets back to his room and finds Riley all of his dreams have come true, until Riley drops his bombshell about what he is. Want to know what Riley is? Then you'll just have to read the book. You won't be disappointed that you did. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. I received this free book in exchange for an honest review.
